Supported Games, Platforms and Features

Compare supported Borderlands games, PC save formats and editing features. Find the right editor for character files, profiles, currencies and items.

Supported games and platforms

Choose the editor for your game and import its local character or profile file. The three games have separate save structures and item-code formats.

Use a computer browser to edit PC saves. You can edit a supported PC file on another computer after copying it there, then return the download to the computer running the game. Raw PlayStation and Xbox containers use platform encryption and cannot be imported as PC saves. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is not supported.

The BL3 Advanced converter accepts PC character files and already-decrypted PS4 inner character files. It converts the inner representation. Extracting, signing and restoring a console container belongs to the console's own workflow.

Choose levels suited to your installed game and DLC. BL2 uses the cap you select. A character's ordinary level, item levels and difficulty progression are different values, so use each named control for its purpose. Ordinary skill-point edits change the unspent balance while keeping invested skills.

BL4 map controls distinguish terrain fog, discovered locations and fast travel. Use the profile for shared progress and the character controls for individual progress. Story completion does not set character or item levels; choose those separately for the point where you want to resume.

BL2's fast-travel control accepts an exact destination ID. It does not include a preset containing every destination. Keep the existing visited locations when adding a specific one.

Profile features

FileAvailable controls
BL4 profile.savBank item codes and levels, favorite flags, Max SDU, Vault Powers, Hover Drives, cosmetics, map and shared progress, new-character level-30 shortcuts
BL3 profile.savBank item codes, Golden and Diamond Keys, Vault Card keys and chests, Guardian Rank and Tokens, Guardian rewards, Science tokens and progression, Bank and Lost Loot SDUs, cosmetics
BL2 profile.binGolden Keys from 0–255 and replacement of existing populated shared-stash slots

Profile changes apply to shared account data. Back up the whole account folder when you want a restore point covering both characters and their profile. In BL4, the new-game shortcut enables a level-30 start for newly created characters; edit an existing character's level separately.

Advanced tools and item codes

BL4 Advanced exposes the full YAML, with encrypted .sav and text .yaml downloads. Preserve the document's structure and correct syntax errors before applying a manual edit.

BL4 serials use Base85 text, commonly beginning @Ug. BL3 codes use BL3(...); BL2 codes use Gibbed's BL2(...) form. Preserve the full string and use the matching game's editor.

The BL4 item directory contains 112 serial builds covering 20 named designs, with scope, grip and level variants labeled clearly. The BL4 serial decoder reads levels, manufacturers and parts, changes item levels, replaces existing parts using 176 category dictionaries, and encodes the result. Base85/token-text conversion and a manual DPS calculator are also available.

Import, download and restore

Every editor offers the imported original as a backup download. Preview, apply and download a separate edited copy. The browser does not write directly into your live save folder. Undo and Reset affect the current browser draft.

Close the game before replacement, retain the original filename and manage cloud synchronization around the local copy you intend to keep. Restore a file on disk by copying back your untouched backup.

Follow how to edit Borderlands saves safely. Find files with the BL4 location guide, BL3 location guide or BL2 location guide.
